Investments in commercial properties in Berlin continued on their shallow upwards trajectory in the 3rd quarter. The transaction volume of €2.5bn was some 11 % higher than the prior year’s total. Year on year 15 % more commercial transactions were registered. “Despite that, market activity is still hampered by a certain degree of uncertainty and caution. We do not expect to see any appreciable market recovery until 2025,” says Andreas Rehberg, spokesperson for the Management Board of Grossmann & Berger Immobilien, a member of German Property Partners (GPP). “We observe that market players remain cautious, but their mood is steadily improving. Therefore we expect the market to continue its recovery so that the year-end total could be between 5 and 5.5 billion euros“, remarks Stefan Olsson, head of Investment Berlin at Grossmann & Berger Immobilien.
